I had not expected the bedroom to look like that. The house was rather modern, at least it seemed so from the outside, and I immediately imagined a simplistic interior. But I was wrong. As soon as I entered the house, I noticed that there were lots of old-fashioned elements there. The furniture in the living room must have been a hundred years old. It was painted white and some new elements had been added, but otherwise it was truly antique. We talked for a minute and then they led me straight to the nursery. There was a cot bed with some antique-looking bedding in it. The walls were covered in vintage wallpaper: flowers, birds, and trees were everywhere. The toys were traditional too. No modern-looking dolls or electronic devices. I liked the room, although it made me feel a bit strange. I felt as if taken back to the eighteenth century. If it hadn"t been for the busy road outside, I would have felt completely isolated from the outside world. I looked at the cot bed again and asked where the child was. The babysitter had taken it out for a walk, I heard. The nanny would be away on the following day and I was supposed to take her place. I was really happy when they offered me the job straight away.
